Stargate Command.

To whom it may concern;

You are hereby invited to attend a meeting with Presidend of United States of America at your earliest convience.

Please contact White House for the details of your visit.

Presidental Secretary

P.S. This meeting has been declared Top Secret and must be treatead as such.

That was it. A mere memo that would have been one among many if it wasn't for the fact that it came from the top with a courrier. You weren't sure why it was such a big deal but appereantly whatever it was Very Important. So you did do as you were told. And after taking a long trip and singing bunch of papers. You were let in. And boy you weren't expecting such a big revelation. Wormholes, aliens pretending to be gods, and humans on other planets. Almost like a Sci-fi show really if it wasn't such serious bussiness.

At the end of it your head was spinning and when President made his offer you almost missed it.

He wanted you to take the command. And you are;

[] Brig General George Hammond; +1 Stewardship action.
You are old and were waiting for your retirement. Still if it is what your country demanded you would see it tough.

[] Brig General Jacob Carter; +1 Intrigue action.
Stargate is a great unknown. You intend to find out all about it. It helps that your daughter seemd to be working on it already albeit in a different way.

[] Colonel Rtd. Jack O'neill; +1 Martial Action.
You already knew all about this whole thing. Only suprise in the whole thing was your lie was figured out yet nobody seem to angry with you. Cool. You would also get a promotion if you accepted the job which is not so cool.

[X] Dr.Elizabeth Weir; +1 Diplomacy action.
Being civilian is both an advantage and disadvatage in black ops. But you are not one to let military have their way. President seems to agree that military was not best choice to represent the planet at least.

[] Write in; For Learning and Piety(Medical in this case). Canon or close to it please. Up for my approval.

Also the reason why the command is being reactivated is;

[] Abydos gate seems unburied.
Bonus; Abydos pyramid base, naqaduah mines, diplomacy hero Daniel Jackson. ???

[X] Army has sent some old files to SGC. In it a video that showed a successfull connection to an adress that is not Abydos.
Bonus; Ruined Castle base, ancient dias of knowladge, learning hero Earnest Littlefield. ???

[] Write In; Subject to approval.

Notes: Since this is my first piece of writing I don't expect this to be that good. But the idea has been running around my head for a while so decided to throw this to

wolves SB. It will be CK2 style. Atleast somewhat. Also it will be AU in the some parts of it. Espacially later parts that deals with Asgard, Atlantis etc. More to point Ori is not really a thing as far as this quest concerned unless you guys finda way to reach to Ori galaxy yourselves with ships. On the other hand Go'auld will be a bigger problem since they are scattered across the galaxy and there is a lot of them.

Also English is my 2nd language so if you can point any mistakes I will correct them.

Cheers.

Going canon for now would be wise, as it'd likely result in having most of the SG1 crew along again. That, and of course for shame for forgetting Samantha Carter as a potential Learning hero. :p

Aaand I'd also hazard a guess that we'd at LEAST get Jack O'Neil as a Martial hero unit, bar screw up/s.

Sam Carter will be your Learning advisor since she has been working on this thing for years at this point.

Jack on the other hand has retired so you would have to spend an action to bring him for debrief and recruitment. But you will probably get it barring some botch on the action roll.

[x] Write in: Daniel Jackson

Daniel would be an option that I would accept albeit It would lock you to Abydos action in order to make that feasible.

[x] Write in : Robert Minton (U.S. representative on the security council)
When the stargate was first discovered the US government removed it without the Egyptian government finding out... or so they thought, turns out that they did. Now that they have managed to gather sufficient evidence they have brought it to the UN and the program has been made an international one, to be headed by the security council. Increased recruitment pool, Increased facilities, International tensions, chance of sabotage, chance of political delays.

[X] Army has sent some old files to SGC. In it a video that showed a successfull connection to an adress that is not Abydos.
Bonus; Ruined Castle base, ancient dias of knowladge, learning hero Earnest Littlefield. ???

I chose this write in because I felt that this was something that should have happened. It also makes it much easier for us to operate on a larger scale both technological and militarily. However it does come with it's own risks, something I feel are risks that we will eventually have to deal with anyways. It also gives us greater authority when representing earth in interplanetary relations.

Secondly, though I feel that Sifu is notably a danger, he is a known one. If we screw around with Daniel Jackson we could make him a bit happier and possibly stop the chance of Sifu being born, but that leads to two risks, (A) that Apophis takes too much interest in us because Sha're is with us / protected by us or (B) we risk Apophis having a different Harceisis that may cause an actual problem.

With Littlefield we get what is essentially an abandoned planet to base future operations out of. This reduces the risks for us as we can avoid people discovering who we are by simply following us back to base. This would help us, especially against the Goa'uld as they would not be against glassing the planet to kill us. The knowledge and tech there also gives us a bit of a head start when it comes to developing and will hopefully allow us to progress our own technology rather than depend on reverse-engineered tech. With time this would also allow us to begin projects that would be too difficult to begin on earth, such as a full-scale shipyard or testing more dangerous devices. If my write-in gets accepted, this also will reduce the problems with choosing a location somewhat.

Indeed.
Tasoli Would my write-in work?
Sorry but I will have to go with no. Don't get me wrong it sounds tempting interesting but united Earth is an endgame goal rather than starting point.

Also here is a hint. Elizabeth Weir gets options for it earlier than anyother and she gets a bonus for it.

Okay, so I go with my original idea.

Now I choose Weir gives a better chance for peaceful conflict resolution, though we have seen in SG:A that she is not entirely against combat options. She would likely choose for self-improvement for earth, rather than just jacking the Goa'uld stuff. As said by the author, she has a better chance to develop international relations. Secondly, as a civilian, Weir is less constrained by traditional military thinking, and as such is more flexible. Something that would be more helpful in a non-conventional environment.

Just be careful, remember what Heliopolis was like in the series? You know, precarious position, about to fall into the ocean...

We'll need to move the gate, etc.

Still, I like this one.

which is honestly not that difficult. We have an entire abandoned planet. The gate is large enough that you could send enough heavy equipment to move the gate to a nearby cave and the place isn't that bad off. The only thing we really need to worry about is the storm from cannon and we could bunker down relatively easily.
